Hello,

I have a question regarding this article:

http://www.microgrinder.com/poker-strategy-articles/6-max-pre-flop-ranges/

In the article we have "Open calling ranges" and "3-betting ranges", but they are overlapping each other, so that I don't know if I should call Villiam or 3bet him.

For example:

Villiam raises from MP and Hero is sitting on BTN holding QQ. Looking at the "Open calling ranges", I can call him. Looking at the "3-Betting Ranges", I can 3-bet him. So what shoud I do concerning this article, should I call him, or should I 3-bet him?

These ranges are general "starting point" recommendations for pre-flop ranges. You must remember, pre-flop ranges in NLHE aren't static. They're highly dynamic and dependent upon your opponents at the table, their playing style and how tight or loose they open pre-flop from various positions. QQ isn't a hand you always want to 3-bet a MP open-raise. Against certain opponents and in certain situations you should flat call, but in others you should 3-bet....it depends on a lot of variables.

If you want to truly understand how to play pre-flop and why, I recommend taking a look at my Pre-Flop Mastery Course:
