Wow!! What an easy transaction. Anyone in the US trying to deposit I highly recommend using bitcoin. I spent about a hour this past weekend learning how to use bitcoin and just tested it out. It took about 10 minutes from the start of the process until the money hit my account and I only payed $0.07 in fees for the entire transaction.

That is good to know. I was looking into do a small bitcoin deposit so I can do bitcoin withdraws but I read on 2+2 that lately lots of people have been having issues with bitcoin withdraws and the money not showing up in their wallets....and I've never had an issue with check withdraws, so I'm hesitant to give bitcoin a try, not to mention its an unregulated market.

What bitcoin providers did you use?

I spent a couple hours last night reading about coinbase, circle, etc. and from an IT perspective (since I work in Cyber Security), these companies are considered start-ups with some glaring gaps in their network security policies and procedures. Well-versed IT people that play poker don't use them and buy their bitcoins directly in-person and hold their bitcoins in a personal wallet on their on computer with robust crypto in place.

Also - Circle and Coinbase will ban your account if they find out you use it for gambling, so be aware of that...that is the reason people try to "hide" their transactions with a middle-person bitcoin wallet.

There have been delays / issues with bitcoin payouts as well, so be sure to keep up to date with Bovada payouts here:

I'm waiting for the day for fully-regulated poker in the U.S. so we don't have to deal with bitcoin, etc.

I'm going to hold off on bitcoin until all of the issues are ironed out on Bovada since its still in its infancy.

I took the dive, set up a CoinBase and Blockchain account and I'm doing two small test bitcoin withdrawals from Bovada and Americas Card Room to test them out. Will update with how well it goes and if there are any issues.

I was reading the 2+2 thread and it looked like the smaller withdrawals were going through in about 3 days. The larger ones seemed to be having issues though.

My Bovada cashout request was approved and in my BlockChain wallet the same day. I transferred it to CoinBase and within 1.5 hour had sold my bitcoins and initiated a transfer to my bank account. All went smooth on my end...but it was a very small test withdrawal.

My Americas Cardroom Bitcoin withdrawal request, on the other hand, is still pending.
