QQ vs All-In
Hello learners and Instructors
At the moment i am playing on pokerstara with playmoney
So here is my question
The action is folded to the cutoff who bets 1BB, i raise to 4BB on the button with QQ and the blinds fold.
Its heads up against the cutoff who pushes all-In and i call.
He shows AA and wins because the board doesnt hit me nor him.
Was it the wrong decision to call an All-In preflop woth a pair of Queens?
This is a very difficult question to answer without more information; however, seeing that it's play money...anything can happen because there's no real money involved (so that aspect of the game is out the window).
I wouldn't overthink play money situations; moreover, I'd recommend playing for real money if you want to play in realistic situations.
Assuming this was a real money cash game, I'd have several follow-up questions:
- HUD Stats, Tells, Tendencies of Villain
- Effective Stack Sizes
You need to know how your opponent plays, as well as effective stack sizes to know if calling the all-in jam is correct or incorrect.
Thank you very much alton !
Today i whatched the video "Being disciplined to lay down a Monster" and this video perfectly answered my question!
Thank you for putting this free course out, i find ich perfect for a beginner like me !:)
I have another little question...i want to make money with poker but i have relativ little money. How much time or courses or books should i study before playing with real money...at the moment im only playing with play money.
Thank you in advance Alton 🙂
Regarding your question, that's not really a question I can answer since we all learn at different speeds. Its a personal preference. Some people like to study and play as they go, while others like to dedicate time to learning the game thoroughly before they invest money on the tables.
