What is a 3 barrel?
I was just looking for an detailed explanation of the above question. I have heard a lot said about this tactic in poker and I pretty have never do it in my game. I was just wondering how and when I should do it, if I should and how I can be set up to do it profitably.
There's no simple answer. Triple barreling is firing 3 c-bets (flop, turn and river) and usually pertains to semi-bluffing and bluffing, but can also be value betting. When and if you should apply it depends on your perceived range, your opponent(s) perceived ranged, the board texture, fold equity, and playing style - all combined.
At the micro stakes, I wouldn't recommend it where lots of people are calling stations. If they don't fold to 2 streets of c-bets, they typically won't fold the river.
