Nice to see you started a blog. Wondering what you’re currently doing to improve your game? I can provide recommendations. I’ll also comment on some of your hands as well, but I also recommend posting “tough” hands and that you discuss why they were difficult and your thought process with each hand:

Hand #1: Pre-flop, be careful calling with small pocket pairs in the blinds, its typically -EV unless you’re deep stacked and have great implied odds. Post-flop, not sure your reasoning for leading out on the flop. You flopped the nuts and donk betting doesn’t accomplish much. You should be taking a check/call line on the flop at minimum. I would check/call the flop, most likely check/call the turn and depending upon the range I put villain on, I’d lead on the river or check/raise the river.

Hand #2: J9o is somewhat loose for opening on the CO unless their are fish in the blinds. So be careful opening too wide learning to beat 2nl.

Hand #3: You shouldn’t be flatting AA pre-flop at 2nl. This is a mandatory 3-bet. I would 3-bet to around $0.30. Not sure what happened post-flop, since it only shows part of the flop action.

Hand #4: Post-flop, you should increase your bet sizing here with KK. The flop is semi-wet with flush and straight draw possibilities, so I’d bet around 2/3 – 3/4 pot. Same thing for the turn, bet at minimum 2/3 pot. The river is a really bad card for you, so I like the check, but not the call. When villain calls an UTG raise and calls two streets of action with a board run-out like this, and bets the river, I doubt he has much bluffs in his range. All Tx hands (AT,KT,JT,9T) completed the straight. All Qx hands (AQ – QT) crush you as well. And moderate pocket pairs 88-JJ beat you as well. So you really on have a bluff catcher. Given the price (2.36:1 pot odds), you need to win around 30% of the time. But I just don’t see bluffs with that bet sizing at 2nl. So I think you should be laying this down with a *sigh*

Hope my quick analysis on these hands helps. 🙂

I watched today Seven Common Beginner Mistakes and Solutions: Mini-Course and Widening Your Pre-Flop Ranges: Mini-Course free Courses, and also i hope to improve my game by posting my hands from every day sessions here and hope to get helpful comments what i do wrong and what can i improve in my game and can later review them. I am 4 tabling currently and playing 2-4 hours a day,so i got about 600-700 hands per day.

Hand #1.I know that calling with small pocket pairs was wrong, sometimes doing my session i dont even see myself what position i have,i have started already playing more in position and lay down small pocket pairs when i am OOP. Maybe i have too many tables open,i dont be sure about that.

Hand #2: J9o is somewhat loose for opening on the CO unless their are fish in the blinds. So be careful opening too wide learning to beat 2nl.

Hand #2: Not sure why i am opened so loose here

Hand #3: You shouldn’t be flatting AA pre-flop at 2nl. This is a mandatory 3-bet. I would 3-bet to around $0.30. Not sure what happened post-flop, since it only shows part of the flop action.

Hand #3: I know that 3betting was one of my biggest leaks so far, advice taken from you and i already started to 3 bet AA,KK,QQ and sometimes JJ

Hand #4: I forgot to add 1bb for limper in UTG,everything else are mistakes i make typically every time in my game, just cant fold Top Pair, already watched Seven Common Beginner Mistakes and Solutions- Over valuing one pair today and i know about i have this leak in my game.

Thank you for reviewing my hands, that is very, very helpful for me,because its hard to beat game when i even dont understand what i am doing wrong.

TO Alton – MicroGrinder Poker: about my postflop bet sizes,i am useing 888 built in 1/2, 3/4 buttons to bet postflop,is it wrong? And hand ranges i play are in my head, sould i print out your ranges to paper and look them from there? What should be correct ranges to full ring game? I play now something like VPIP 18 PFR 16,it depends on tables i play,i try to adjust based on table.

Your bet-sizing, both pre-flop and post-flop should be based upon a lot of factors: (1) board texture, your opponent’s playing style, your opponent’s possible made hand ranges and their corresponding equity, and your hand strength. Your goal in betting the best hand is (1) to give your opponents a bad mathematical price to call based upon their equity and (2) to maximize your value.

Have you read my Essential Poker Math Book? If not, its on sale for $0.99 today on Amazon and it’s available in all Amazon stores; here is the U.S. link:

https://www.amazon.com/Essential-Poker-Math-Fundamental-Mathematics-ebook/dp/B012HMBC82

In regards to your ranges, I’d recommend printing them out on a piece paper for now. In regards to the correct ranges for a full ring game, you can look at my 6-max ranges and tweak them accordingly for full ring games. I also take about opening, calling and 3-betting ranges in my Crush Micro Stakes and Conquer Micro Stakes courses

http://pokerschool.microgrinde…..akes-poker

I don’t play full ring, but your VPIP/PRF stats seem in line with what they should be.

The following users say thank you to Alton - MicroGrinder Poker for this useful post:

That’s a good strategy to spend more time focusing on studying the game and then returning to playing more. Strike a balance between playing and studying will help you to improve your game and understanding of the game.
