I have decided to start my own bankroll building challenge. I recently deposited $75 on Bovada to start playing 5nl. I have just started back playing poker after taking about a year off. I started off playing on Juicy Stakes where I had a roll of $68. I built it up to right at $90 but the traffic is so low on the site especially at the times I play.( Usually early weekend mornings)

So I'm doing this to track and share my progress and hold myself accountable.( So maybe I don't quit again as I have done several times in the past.)

I would also like to surpass the 1k profit mark. I don't consider this a goal, just a milestone that I would like to achieve.( I currently sit at $375 lifetime profit.)

Hands      869

Profit     $14.82

BR        $83.75   These numbers are off due to me losing $6.07 playing PLO8.

Good luck with your challenge. $75 is on the smaller side for Bovada but sufficient so long as you don't go on a variance downswing (I've gone on a 20 buy-in downswing before).

How many tables do you plan on playing and are you playing 6-max, full ring and/or Zone?

$1k is definitely doable if you move up in stakes to $25NL. I made $1k at 5nl & 10nl...but it took forever, lol.

I look forward to reading about your progress!

I could have deposited more but it was my first experience with bitcoin and I wasn't sure how it was going to go. So I wanted to give myself enough buyins to be comfortable but not risk that much if the deposit went bad somehow. I'm making it work by 2 tabling until I reach $100 then I plan on adding 2 more tables.

I was always a fullring player but since I started back playing around the start of June I have switched over to 6 max. I mainly switched because 6 max table are easier to find these days. I'm not a big fan of zone so I am playing the regular tables and I bought the Bovada Card Catcher so I can use my HM2 hud.

I think you're rolled just fine for 2-tabling 5nl on Bovada seeing how the games are so soft. Keep it up and you'll be to 25nl in no time!

I'm going to be taking this challenge in a slightly different direction for the time being. I have $90 on Juicy Stakes Poker that I really want to get off of there. My minimum withdrawal is $185 so I'm going to try to grind that up and 36% rakeback should help quite a bit. I also have $17 on True Poker and need to get it up to $25 to be able to withdraw via Bitcoin.

So I'm going to focus on True and Juicy first and only play Bovada if there are no tables running. I will be depositing any of this money onto Bovada as I receive it in order to help me climb the limits.

True BR         17.62

Juicy BR         89.68

Bovada BR     93.79

I think that is smart. Get your money off the other sites and over to Bovada so you can focus on moving up quicker. You're close with True Poker for a bitcoin withdrawal, but might take awhile on Juicy Stakes. How are withdrawals on Juicy Stakes?

If you get $200+, then its time to move up to 10nl. 🙂

For a while they were nonexistent and I had basically given up on my money there. Then they were bought out by a different company and the cashouts seemed to improve. Last I checked people were receiving their checks in about 2 weeks. I'm not sure how accurate that is now I need to check the 2+2 thread. I have been trying for a couple of years to make a trade for it on 2+2 but can never get any takers.

I just checked the Juicy Stakes cashout thread on 2+2 and it looks like checks are taking just over 1 week but they are charging $50 for a check. If I got up to $185 and they took $50 then my bank charges $20 for a foreign check that would only leave me with $115 so I posted on 2+2 trying to trade my $90 for $50 BTC. Hopefully I get some action.

What?!?!?!? $50 charge per check...what a rip off. Unbelievable how people would play on there because that his highway robbery.

Who do you bank with? I've never been charged for a foreign check...and I don't think that is really ethical on their end.

It's a home town bank and they usually charge me $20 for the checks. I have had checks from Merge, WPN, and Bovada all charged me $20 to cash.

Why not deposit it rather than cash it? That would save your the charge fee for cashing it. You'd just have to wait ~ 2 weeks while it cleared going through their international collections department.

No that fee is for depositing it. They charge it either way.

I have never been charged anything whether depositing or withdrawing. I use my Visa Electronic Bank Card and depositing takes only a few seconds and withdrawals 2-3 bank days at most. And no charge of any kind.

Update

Bovada     107.11

Juicy          91.29

True           19.48

So I got some action on my 2+2 post and had a guy going to give me 50 for my 90 but my player to player transfer option would not work. I have been emailing back and forth with Juicy Stakes for a week now but the issue has not been resolved yet.

I have another home game set up for tonight. Last week I lost about 1/2 a buyin but was in some really good spots the cards just didn't fall my way.

I also surpassed the $400 lifetime winnings mark for cash games today.(10nl and below)
